Dear Peru Crew Groupies,
The second day in Peru was interesting. After being awaken by Cary's dreamy voice we had breakfast which consisted of ham ,cheese, rolls, coffee, and some crazy good pineapple juice that didn't even taste that much like pineapples. The first part of the day was strictly business. We went to the municipal building, saw the offices, met some of its workers. After that we went and met the police chief and saw the cells and some rooms in the prison. We took a trip to two day cares, one with funding, and the other with less, and we kind of saw the real San Bartolo for the first time on our trip.
Next we went to the national police training center for woman. We got a tour, saw all of the buildings, and these comments came up, "OMG he has blue eyes!, uhm, "I'm 16", response, "Ahhhhh", and " He looks like Aventura, some band."After that we learned how to do La Marinera, a Peruvian dance, cumbia, and had a party/rave/jam/fiesta. It was an interesting day, we'll see what happens tomorrow.
