Once in a blue moon...

If you were to ask me what was the one thing I took away from last week's trip to Cuzco and Machu Picchu:
Me and Altitude don't mix.

Second thing I took away from it:
Michael and Altitude don't mix.

Third thing:
Just about everyone and altitude don't mix

But other than that, I don't think I've ever seen anything so beautiful and breathtaking. Sitting at the top of that mountain (a mountain, picture that!) I found myself mesmerized by the sun's clarity and the lack of pollution. Sitting at the top of that mountain I could not help but think what a shame it is that though I am almost 18 years old, I have yet to see a clear star-speckled sky, a consequence of growing up in an urban city of course.

I was supposed to write the blog the day before yesterday, however, due to a case of "extreme tiredness" as some might call it, I did not (so now i'm messing with the order of the blog; of course this is purposeful, to make sure that the blog followers are on their toes ;] ). The day before yesterday we headed to La Primaria "Santa Maria" to help teach but when we go there we found out that the school was closed. We returned to Kauhuhu and chated by the pool about our upcoming meeting with the jovenes from Colegio Victor Moron Munoz and what we wanted to accomplish in the remaining two weeks. Around 4pm we met with the jovenes and handed over the metaphoric reins. A couple days ago the group of San Bartolo kids decided their 1st project would be the clean-up of Playa Sur (South Beach) and so the planning begun. The Peru Crew helped make posters but after that it was all up to the jovenes to take control. They scheduled a meeting, which would be held without us to map out the final plans for Friday's Beach clean-up. Its going yo be amazing! Stay posted (haha) for the next blog entry.
